We, as humans, tend to like people and hang around those whom we see as similar to ourselves. We tend to avoid or shun those whom we see as different. Sometimes our impressions can be wrong. I said, sometimes our impressions can be wrong.
So why do we cling so tightly to these first impressions and turn our backs on those we see as ‘different’ than we are? I say it is a combination of fearing someone or something we don’t know and pride in not wanting to hang around someone whom others look down upon. .
The only thing wrong with that picture? We will never know how right or wrong our impressions were unless we really get brave and get to know those we view as being different from us. It may be a real eye-opening and rewarding experience..How courageous are you?
